The Towns of Marin County

There are many different communities and towns in Marin that each offer a little something different: The towns of Marin consist of Sausalito, just over the Golden Gate Bridge with its artist studios and amazing water view homes; the neighboring town of Mill Valley with its famous reputation as being the home of Mountain Biking, the Grateful dead as well as The National Monument Muir Woods forest of redwood trees; Tiburon with its grand views of San Francisco across the bay, the exclusive estates of Belvedere Island, Ross with its own world famous school district and only approximately 800 homes; the small-town feel of the twin cities of Larkspur and Corte Madera with interconnected bike paths and small charming downtown; Greenbrae which has an easy access to the SF Ferry; Kentfield in the shadows of Mount Tamalpais; San Anselmo, a tucked away town with a small-town attitude; Fairfax with its reputation from the hippy era; San Rafael home to famous 60’s Eichler homes as well as vintage Victorians and its bustling down-town; and Marin’s northernmost town of Novato. Additionally, Marin has a lot to offer for those desiring the tranquility of living within view of the Pacific Ocean: the towns of Western Marin like Stinson Beach, Muir Beach, Point Reyes, Inverness, Marshall and Dillon Beach. Marin also has less populated and more rural areas as you get away from Highway 101 with rolling hills, farmland and redwood forests and include towns like Lagunitas, Wood Acre and Nicassio. All of the towns in Marin have wonderful places to explore and all make excellent places to call home.

Marin County is one of the world’s most beautiful places and its understandable why so many desire to make it their home.
